It's not often that deep powder snow is followed by full sun the next day, but thankfully we had that and a few horses full of energy that had been in the barn for two days straight. With horses being exactly like people in many ways, they were ready to rip like a ten year old with a new sled and school closed for the day.
This image is the white stallion in the small paddock going full out and truly enjoying the moment. He's just gone behind me, made a tight turn at the fence wire, and starting to come tearing back past, which he did an arm's length away. He gave us many good shots while running for ten minutes solid, but this one was the most dynamic while conveying his athleticism and natural beauty. The powder snow lifts and flies and looks like drifting smoke, and the Pennsylvania mountains behind are in deep winter blue against the white.
