Crossing the Potomac River from the Ridgley WV yards and shops, and into the station across the river at Cumberland MD, this reenactment on the old Western Maryland was done on a fifteen degree morning. Good thing, too. We may not have a lot of sunlight under that winter overcast, but look at all the great smoke!
Interestingly, you can ride this steam train too, but with a twist. It is actually a rails-with-trail because one of the double tracks was pulled up years ago. Load your bike onto the train for a ride up the mountain, and coast back down the sixteen miles through the woods back into town.
