This three block panorama from a small hand-stitched quilt uses three traditional geometric designs with the leftmost block having a rising sun which is also one of the few asymmetrical areas in the overall piece. This section is based on eights: eight sun rays, and each star has eight points and eight accompanying fill pieces.
The entire quilt contains twelve blocks total with a narrow border. It is country style in traditional needlecraft and an interesting and colorful piece of rustic Americana. The quilt was sewn by my mother over thirty years ago approx late seventies and is kept on display in my home.
